Marvel Studios and Disney Have done it again!

Synopsis

Scarlett Johansson, AKA Natasha Romanoff, gets pulled into a plot to chemically subjugate ( mind control ) Assassins worldwide by her sister Yelena Belova, played by actress Florence Pugh ( The Falling, Lady Macbeth ) she is a gifted actress, I believe we will be seeing a lot more of in future films.

Natasha is pursued relentlessly by the retired Lieutenant General Thaddeus E. "Thunderbolt" Ross, who will stop at nothing to capture her.
Dealing with her history as a spy and the breakup of the Avengers, this film takes place post 'Captain America Civil War.

"I think from the very beginning when we first started talking about doing a standalone film, there was no reason to make the film unless we could dig really deep and be brave and go there," says Scarlett Johansson."

The pair of onscreen (surrogate) sisters, do such a great job with the angry sibling dynamic, you can see the animosity between them, yet you feel the love they have for one another as well.

And Dig deep they did, to quote Johansson

This film begins with the origins of the Black Widow and goes full steam ahead from there!
The character development is above and beyond your average Marvel film.

You genuinely feel for all the characters in this film

Though they are ruthless trained Assassin's, we root for them; they are anti-heroes.
David Harbour (Stranger Things) does an excellent job as the anti-hero known as the Red Guardian. Along with Michelle Weisz (Disobedience, The Constant Gardener, Enemy at the Gate), make for a beautiful team of would-be parents for the girls.

Even though they have not seen one another for two decades , you can see just how much they really do care for one another. I really enjoyed this aspect of the film.

They are good people who had terrible events forced upon them; I believe this is why we love Black Widow so much in the Marvel Universe. It's ok to root for the bad guys when the other bad guys are worse!

The Perfect Mix.

Action, Action, and more Action thrown in with significant character development make for a beautiful film! They truly got the balance right.

In closing lets not forget:

1.Beautiful Cinematography
2.The perfect Score/soundtrack sets the film's mood in the first 5 seconds and continues throughout.
3. Perfect dysfunctional family dynamics that pull you into the film
4. A film that really makes you feel something! I can't say that is true of all Films.
And most of all, World-class Actors at the top of their game. So really, that's all a film needs, and when you throw in Marvel and Disney, you have a win, win!

I give this film 4 1/2 Stars
